The Bondi to Coogee coastal walk is Sydney's most loved walk: 6 km of clifftop paths, sandstone headlands, ocean pools and five beaches, free to enjoy every day of the year. Allow two to three hours, or a whole day with swims along the way. Marco Polo Motor Inn Sydney in Summer Hill is an easy base for it, with free parking for your car and trains into the city 400 metres from the door.

The walk at a glance
The walk runs south from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach along a paved path with stairs, boardwalks and lookouts. It is well signposted and suits most fitness levels, and you can join or leave it at any beach along the way.
- Distance: about 6 km one way
- Time: two to three hours, longer with swims and stops
- Bondi to Tamarama: about 1.2 km, around 30 minutes
- Tamarama to Bronte: about 500 m, around 10 minutes
- Bronte to Clovelly: past Waverley Cemetery on the clifftops
- Clovelly to Coogee: about 1.8 km, around 40 minutes, via Gordons Bay

Beaches and highlights along the way
Start with a swim at Bondi Beach or the famous Bondi Icebergs ocean pool. The path climbs past Mackenzies Bay to little Tamarama, then on to Bronte with its rock pool and shady park, perfect for a picnic.
Beyond the clifftop Waverley Cemetery, Clovelly's calm inlet is a favourite for snorkelling, Gordons Bay shelters a pretty cove, and Coogee finishes the walk with a wide beach, ocean baths and plenty of cafes. In late spring, Sculpture by the Sea usually turns the Bondi to Tamarama section into an outdoor gallery.

Shorter options: Bondi to Bronte and Bondi to Clovelly
Short on time? Bondi to Bronte is about 2.5 km and takes around an hour with stops, ending at Bronte's park and cafes. Bondi to Clovelly takes in the best of the clifftops and finishes at Clovelly's sheltered swimming spot, with buses back to the city from both.
