The Rocks is Sydney's oldest neighbourhood: sandstone lanes, weekend markets, pubs, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Harbour Bridge overhead. Hotels inside it charge some of the highest rates in the country. Marco Polo Motor Inn Sydney in Summer Hill is about 20 minutes away by direct train to Circular Quay, at the edge of The Rocks, with rooms from $140, one free secured undercover parking spot per booking and reception open 24 hours. Spend the saving on the BridgeClimb.

Getting to The Rocks
Summer Hill station is a 400-metre walk from the hotel. Take a direct train to Circular Quay, about 20 minutes; The Rocks begins across the road from the station, with George Street, the Argyle Cut and the markets a few minutes' walk. Trains run late into the evening for the trip back.
Parking in The Rocks is scarce and costly, especially on weekends and cruise-ship days. Leave the car in our free secured car park and arrive by train like the locals do.

What to do in The Rocks
The Rocks Markets fill the lanes every Saturday and Sunday, with a Friday foodie market as well. The Museum of Contemporary Art is free to enter, Cadmans Cottage and the Rocks Discovery Museum tell the early colony's story, and the Pylon Lookout on the Harbour Bridge gives the classic view for a small fee. BridgeClimb departs from Cumberland Street, and Dawes Point and Observatory Hill are the best free spots for photos of the bridge and the Opera House.
Historic pubs such as the Lord Nelson, the Hero of Waterloo and the Fortune of War line the streets, and the Overseas Passenger Terminal brings cruise ships right into the precinct.
