Walking across the Harbour Bridge

Walking across the Harbour Bridge

Walking across the bridge is free and one of the best things to do in Sydney. The footway runs along the eastern side, with views of the Opera House and the harbour all the way. From The Rocks, climb the stairs off Cumberland Street, walk across in about half an hour, and finish at Milsons Point station for the train back.

Cyclists use the cycleway on the western side, so the footway stays relaxed for walkers.

BridgeClimb and the Pylon Lookout

BridgeClimb and the Pylon Lookout

For the ultimate view, BridgeClimb guides small groups up the arch to the summit, with day, twilight and night climbs. It is an unforgettable way to see the city from above.

The Pylon Lookout inside the south-east pylon has exhibits on how the bridge was built and an open lookout over the harbour, a great alternative to the climb.
